One hour to rewrite the past . . .

For seventeen-year-old Emerson Cole, life is about seeing what isn't there: swooning Southern Belles; soldiers long forgotten; a haunting jazz trio that vanishes in an instant. Plagued by phantoms since her parents' death, she just wants the apparitions to stop so she can be normal. She's tried everything, but the visions keep coming back. So when her well-meaning brother brings in a consultant from a secretive organization called the Hourglass, Emerson's willing to try one last cure. But meeting Michael Weaver may not only change her future, it may change her past.

Who is this dark, mysterious, sympathetic guy, barely older than Emerson herself, who seems to believe every crazy word she says? Why does an electric charge seem to run through the room whenever he's around? And why is he so insistent that he needs her help to prevent a death that never should have happened?
Now that was a story that elicited strong emotions. Very strong dislike and distrust of Michael. There was also despair, hopelessness, and even a giddy unbelief. The emotions were often discongruous with the moment in the book. When a crazy vibe should have been in order instead strong acceptance and longing for more.

Kaleb is a force to be reckoned with. Physical prowess, mental and emotional supremacy, mad lady skills, and a dollop of snugly bear. Michael ran the gambit of all the emotions from good to bad. It was interesting following how my emotions were swayed and changed concerning him. Even being aware, I couldn't resist the persuasive pull of the story and stop my emotions from changing.

Definitely an interesting spin on time travel. I like how the book is paced. Slow build up but then it explodes and chugs to the finish line. Very much like the decent into time travel madness. Once you change one thing, how can you stop yourself from doing it again?

Didn't much care for the immediate overwhelming attraction Emerson feels for Michael. It felt too blind and controlling. Almost as if it took away her ability to make her own choices.

Emerson is a great character or at the very least very likeable. She makes up for her short comings and questionable mental state with great conversational ability. She is very much that girl who has a great comeback for everything, knows how to roll with the punches.

I look forward to meeting "The powers that be" in the next book. I agree with Emerson. Bring it.

"Only if you can free me from this beast of a chair," I said, wiggling as I tried to get some leverage. "What do you feed this thing? Customers?"

"Aren't you a knight in shining armor?" My voice dripped syrupy sweetness, and any warm fuzzy feelings left over from last night completely disappeared into a vacuum. "Wherever do you keep your horse? And who scoops up the crap it leaves behind?"
