Pile Denial: 12

I am in denial.

It is ugly but it is nevertheless the state of things.

Here I will document my struggle with my book obsession. Behold my denial in all of its glory.

I am finally back from my long vacation, nearly three weeks. It feels like I fell off the earth. I am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. Even though I was on vacation I didn't find as much time to read as I would have liked. Twelve books found their way into my hands and only seven books worked their way off the pile. Not so great as I had hoped. Of course it is really hard to read at my mother-in-law's house. She frowns on any reading that is not of the spiritual persuasion. Why is vacation rarely as relaxing as it implies?

My other problem right now is that I am trying to figure out what books I want to buy myself for Christmas. For some unexplainable reason I can't think of a book other than Edenbrooke. I can think of plenty of books that aren't published yet but nothing that is already published. I would like to buy a few books. Any ideas?

Problem number two is I am trying to pick a book to give to my friend. She loved Edenbrooke and so I would like to find another books just like it to give her. Any ideas?

I am craving some activity. Last year I remember participating in some read-a-thons and little contests. I think I even won a book or two. I am wishing for something similar but since I have largely been off the computer for the past three weeks I have no idea what is happening. Care to help me out?

Here are the numbers of books hanging out on my TBR pile.

Pile Truth:
Books: 47 (went up) :(
eBooks: 28 (went up) :(
