Pile Denial: 17

I am in denial.

It is ugly but it is nevertheless the state of things.

Here I will document my struggle with my book obsession. Behold my denial in all of its glory.

Pile Escalation:
Library:
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta

Netgalley:
The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johnson

Pile Reduction:
Read:
Justice by Jade Varden
Vesper by Jeff Sampson
Incarnate by Jodi Meadows

DNF:
Faithful by Janet Fox
A Touch Mortal by Leaf Clifford

Bottleneck Effect:
Reading:
Bewitching by Alex Flinn
The Summer Prince by Alaya Dawn Johnson

I really tried to only pick out one book at the library. I even told myself it was harmless to peruse the book shelves. Surely I thought I wouldn't find anything to interest me. Before long I found myself debating between five books. And then I went home with two books instead of one. Clearly I am not strict enough with myself. I won't be able to read either of the library books just yet since I have to get two books read and reviewed for either and upcoming publication or book event. But that is okay since I have a little bit of time before they are due.

Here are the numbers of books hanging out on my TBR pile.

Pile Truth:
Books:43 (stable) :|
eBooks: 26 (decreased) :)

Good news is that I have had a return of my desire to read. It is amazing. I think in part it came from being able to pick a library book up. So nice to browse and pick what I want instead of what I need to get read. Also I think it helps that I read some fast reads that were fairly entertaining. Now if only I can get it to continue and find a way to want to write the reviews I would be floating on cloud nine.

How about you? Are you in denial?
