Book Blogger Confessions: Blogging vs. Personal Life

Question:
How does blogging effect your *real* life? Are friends and family supportive? Do you find that blogging cuts into family time? How do you strike a balance between the two?

Blogging vs. Personal Life

Smackdown

It isn't pretty.

Some days I spend the better half of the day putting together reviews and other posts. Oh who am I kidding, most days. *shoulders relax a bit* Phew, it was good to get that off my shoulders. Blogging has consumed my time and left only tiny scraps for personal stuff. It is taking a terrible toll on my family relationships. My hubby would love nothing more than for me to quit. Lately I have been increasingly missing my personal life. I think I have gotten a bit too detached. Feel a bit too much distance from those other things that are important to me. Balance never was one of my strong points. With the approach of summer, my last before my child enters school, I have felt the strain more between these two opponents. I think my blogging days are ekeing out their last. I miss my child already and really think posts will get even fewer than they are now. Right now my goal is to just finish my review obligations and then stick to finishing off my TBR pile. I think I will still write reviews or thoughts on my reading but I can't be sure. Very likely I will take off for the summer and might not return. But then I can't see where I will be once my child is gone to school. Maybe I will crave blogging again. But I think the scales are tipping more toward personal life right now.

Anyway, thanks for the topic.
