The authors are collecting votes from January 1 to February 15, and any city in the continental US or any Canadian city that has an international airport can win an exclusive visit from all five authors, including an author panel and book signing! We are a cozy little coastal town with more elderly than young'uns. Not kidding as the average age in the city is 60. The only young folk are a result of the elderly needing medical care. It is brutal here being one of the minority. Attending the local book club is painful if you are interested in fiction. Even more so if you have a taste for YA fiction. They all look at me like I have lost my mind and should be in a straight jacket. The local bookstore is no more than a book swap of only the type of books that strike the elderly as fascinating. Imagine my feelings when I attended our local "giant" book event. Almost nothing but books aimed at the age enhanced. So all of this isn't convincing you that they should come to my home town, is it?
What if I mentioned that my home town is also a vacation destination during the warm months. We have hiking, camping, dunes, fishing, boating, an ocean and so many more fun outdoor things to do, when it isn't pouring cats and dogs. Our climate is very temperate and makes for nice days in the sun, which is weak at best. Don't want to take my word for it. Here is what it says on our chamber of commerce site:
