Pile Denial: 20

I am in denial.

It is ugly but it is nevertheless the state of things.

Here I will document my struggle with my book obsession. Behold my denial in all of its glory.

Reading:
Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers

HELP!!! SOS!!! Someone stage an intervention. I am out of control.
I have seven book review requests in my inbox. Truthfully I am trying to ignore them. I am afraid if I read them I will be tempted to say yes to some of them. Which I really cannot afford to do right now. My reading cup overfloweth. I've got six books I have already accepted for review and one of them needs to be read now. I have been trying really hard to read all the recent library books I have picked up but they seem to be hooking up and having babies like rabbits. This is what comes of reading every debut you can get your hands on. The next year when their sequels come out you are helpless to defend yourself. You absolutely must read them all. But it sure doesn't help you recover from an abundant reading pile. Very satisfying but not helpful. Speaking of sequels I have been most fortunate lately in my reading. So many great books to entertain me.
Even though I am in over my head I want more. So many lovely books out there waiting to be read. I think I am in trouble.

Here are the numbers of books hanging out on my TBR pile.

Pile Truth:
Books:45 (increased) :(
eBooks: 29 (stable) :|

How about you? Are you in denial?

  1. oh man.. is the number counting non review books?... because if you count only review books I have around 22 books, including physical and ebooks and their publication dates dance from february to june.. however if my physical books.. they are around 130 *winces*... yes I KNOW I AM OUT OF CONTROL. I keep on buying more and IT'S NOT HEALTHY.. man, this is an addiction.. all i can say is DO NOT open those 7 emails.. ouch that seems a bit mean.. I mean ONLY accept books you are DYING to read.. that is what I go by nowadays (hence only 22 review books). Well my sister is my co-blogger and she has around 15.. thank god there are two of us *phew*

    awesome post!

    1. Yes, most of the books are non-review. Oh my, 22 review books you are dying to read. Yowza! Either you are on good terms with some publishers or you have a more open taste in books. Or perhaps you are paying more attention to this year's debuts. I remember being swamped with review books last year when I was trying to catch as many debuts as I could. It was insane. That is probably why my non-review pile is so massive. Normally I would have read them and not the debuts. But it seems I lack the interest in following the debuts this year. I am content to follow up all the great debuts from last year. Buying books is so much fun. I often wish I had a blogging partner. It sure would be nice. I have to admit I did open those emails. And then I breathed a sigh of relief that only one of them mildly caught my attention. Mild is easy to ignore. Well good luck with your review pile. I hope it doesn't crush you. :)

  2. Not this year - I'm doing pretty good so far. I'm not backed up on review books and I've even had time to read my own books I've purchased. Never as many as I'd like but I'm so proud of myself!
