October is over and so is Quote Me. Phew, what an ordeal. There were three categories of quotes General, Wit/Humor, and Romance/Swoon. Almost sixty books entered quotes and it was a long battle with several casualties and broken egos.
The winner from Wit/Humor is. . .
“Have you fallen in love with the wrong person yet?'
Jace said, "Unfortunately, Lady of the Haven, my one true love remains myself."
..."At least," she said, "you don't have to worry about rejection, Jace Wayland."
"Not necessarily. I turn myself down occasionally, just to keep it interesting.”
City of Bones
The winner from Romance/Swoon is. . .
“There is no pretending," Jace said with absolute clarity. "I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I'll love you then.”
City of Glass
The winner from General is. . .
"How mad at me are you?", I ask. "I mean, exactly how mad--like on a scale of one to ten, where one is kicking my ass and ten is a shark tank?"
Black Heart
These three winners were then pitted against each other for quote supremacy.
King of Quotedom 2012 is. . .
"How mad at me are you?", I ask. "I mean, exactly how mad--like on a scale of one to ten, where one is kicking my ass and ten is a shark tank?"

I am glad it is over. There were some great moments. I met some awesome people. But the amount of work was intense. I don't think I would ever consider doing this again without a partner or two. It just isn't sustainable. But if I find partners and do this again I hope to have others supply the quotes so they aren't all my favorites. It would sure make voting easier on myself.
The contest didn't turn out as I thought it would. Had I been the only one voting an entirely different quote would have won. I am still surprised by the winner. I was sure that Reaper would win since it had the highest turn out for voting. But in the end it just didn't make it.
So did you see this winner coming? If not which book or quote did you think would win?
Here is the part you are likely waiting for.
