Horse Racing Booth: Tuesday - Spring Blog Carnival

****!!RACE CLOSED!!****
DO NOT ENTER THIS RACE

First up I must announce the winning horse of yesterday's race. . .

GRAVE MERCY

Sweet Evil barely left the gate before being distracted by some grass.
Blood Red Road started to flag about half way.
Bloodlines put up a fight.
But in the end Grave Mercy took it all. (Maybe they were threatening people with death by poison and that tipped the scales.)

If you chose that horse to champion congratulations you have been entered into the prize pot. To everyone else better luck with the next race.
For return players you can skip the formalities being repeated and check out today's horses racing. Place your bet in the form not the comments and answer the new question in the comments section.

Who doesn't love a little carnival fun. I sure haven't outgrown my love for carnival games. Lori over at Pure Imagination along with Angela from Reading Angel and Candace from Candace’s Book Blog are throwing the second annual Spring Blog Carnival. I have joined up with them to host a booth. This is likely all stuff you know if you are following along by linky.

Step right up
Only one comment to enter a bet
Just answer the question: (This is your ticket for the booth and to place a bet)
What was or is your favorite carnival food?
Please place your bet through the form not the comments. We don't want to sway the other entrants. The form also gives me a way to contact the winner.
We have a lovely copy of The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater as a prize
(US only)

There are four horses that will be racing today. Bet for your favorite one. If the horse you chose wins your entry will be placed in the pot to win the prize at the end of the carnival. Sorry only the winners advance to the final round here. So choose wisely! There will be a new race each day this week. Come back each day this week to bet on the new horses. You are allowed to enter once each day. That means seven different comments and seven different bets. There might be a way to tip the race in your favor. Spread the word any way you can. Encourage your friends to come and bet on your horse as well.

Todays horses are:

Fracture jockeyed by Megan Miranda

Partials jockeyed by Dan Wells

Starcrossed jockeyed by Josephine Angelini

Shadowcry jockeyed by Jenna Burtenshaw
They are ready to race so hurry and get your bets in. Which horse is your favorite or is the most likely to come out the winner?

Remember you must comment below for your bet to count and fill out the form.

The results of the race will be posted the following day before the new race starts.

A recap:
You can comment once each day and place a corresponding bet on that day's race.
A total of seven possible entries if you come back each day and your horse wins.
The entries for the winning horses each day will be placed in the pot and one will win the prize.
They will be contacted by email and have 48 hours to respond.

One more time:

  3. Yay my horse placed yesterday! Woohoo!!

What do you mean I only get one food?! The ENTIRE point of a carnival is the food! I eat my way from one end of the fair to the other - onion rings, corn dogs, french fries, funnel cakes, deep fried oreos, FRIED DOUGH, apple crisp, donuts, mmmmm.....it's all good!

    1. I think my favorite part is the food as well. I always spend a long time salivating over the food booths. So hard for me to decide what to pick.

    1. Why is it that they seem to sell cotton candy in pre-made bags these days. I miss watching them spin it fresh. Plus I think it tastes better fresh.

    1. I think if I owned a cotton candy machine I would burn my house down and have a very colorful bathroom experience as a result of my overindulgence.

    1. Can someone enlighten me as to what Elephant Ears or Tiger Ears are? I have absolutely no idea and I want to know so I can understand why they are so delicious.

    2. Elephant Ears are Fried Dough with various toppings. I normally have cinnamon and sugar on mine, but I've seen apples, powdered sugar, Carmel, and lots of other toppings. They call them Elephant Ears because they are wide and flattened out, so they resemble Elephants ears. They are so warm and yummy. You should totally try one some time. There are some pictures of Elephant Ears here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fried_dough

    1. It is a whole other world outside the US. Sometimes I am jealous then I remind myself that I don't have to see candied grasshoppers. Puts things in perspective. I am jealous of the chocolate though. Lucky!

  9. I love cotton candy! It's so delicious and just melts in your mouth. Corn dogs and Dip n' Dots(is that carnival food?) are good too. And I've always wanted to try funnel cake. Once I saw some place selling deep fried sticks of butter(and Americans wonders why they're obese).
