Library Thursday: 2/3

 Hosted by Lazy Girl Reads

This weeks lucky choices are as follows:

Two of my picks are ebook format.  Hopefully, I can get through them all in a week.  I decided to try Foundling, by D. M. Cornish, (I like the other cover much better) when my eye alighted on the newest addition to the series and instantly desired it.  Must start at the beginning of course, so here is hoping for the best.  I picked up The Mermaid's Mirror, by L. K. Madigan, after reading a recommendation by Bookworming in the 21st Century.  Virals, by Kathy Reichs, has been popping up everywhere and I want to see what all the excitement is about.  Plus, just look at the cover, don't you want to know why she is running?  The Kings of Clonmel, by John Flanagan, is just part of an entirely too awesome series I have been following for some time now.

  1. I have read The Mermaid's Mirror and it's a beautiful story. Sadly L.K. Madigan has been diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer which has metastized to her liver. She was writing a sequel to this novel though I never expected one, it would have been nice. She's in a lot of pain and of course distress. She had breast cancer apparently 20 yrs ago and survived that and had a son. I read all this on her blog. It's so sad.

  2. I hate it when there is supposed to be an ending an then there isn't one! Tragic for her and her fans.

I thought I would let you know that if you don't find that a book you want to read is at your local library you can ask your librarian to order it in for you. A lot of people don't know that. It is a great way for people to read GOOD books and GOOD way for GREAT books to get into Libraries!

  3. Great picks-looks like a wide variety of stories you have waiting for you!
